Hope for the Handicapped

A ministry for the Physically Challenged

Welcome to the  web site of Hope For the Handicapped, the ministry dedicated to bringing the Good News of Jesus Christ to ALL people, especially those with disabilities.

On June 17th of this year, 2005 our director, my husband, passed away after a long hard struggle with pneumonia which had left him on a ventilator. He is very much missed, but now he has total healing and is rejoicing in Heaven, walking with Jesus, and reunited with his parents.

Soon this web site will be changing, but the ministry will go on. It will never be the same without Ken, but the Lord has already given me a new vision for His ministry.

Our director, Rev. Kenneth J. Young was an ordained minister of the Gospel and a nationally appointed home missionary to the disabled in both the US and Canada. He was quadriplegic from a 1976 auto accident in which he sustained a broken neck and near-total paralysis. It was this very injury that brought him into a full and true saving relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

Tape Ministry

Rev. Young  pastored a church in Hackettstown, New Jersey on a full-time basis until April 2002.  God used him to found this church and maintain it for twelve years, then moved him on to new fields of ministry in  Louisiana, where he lived until his Home Going.

We have an archive of decades of sermons and teaching series from Rev. Young. These will be supplemented with other sermons from other ministers. These messages, via cassette tape (and soon CD and video), will be made available at little or no charge to homebound persons who request them. Other items will be made available for order.

We have many resources and links for the disabled community and hope to soon have sermons right here on this web site for you to hear. We do have an intro message, but it is a slow download. We will also continue to expand this web site in the months to come to better serve you, and to convey the vision of HFTH and our position in the Body of Christ.

One thing to know about us -- at Hope for Handicapped..."Everybody is Somebody and Jesus Christ is Lord!"
